Future Orthodox

My sister has joked that when Virgil gets ordained, my little two-year-old nephew B will be Virgil's "first customer" for baptism. I have been praying to St. Panteleimon (whose name Virgil tentatively translated as "Lion-Heart") for him since I found out he hasn't been baptized. I think he is already showing a tendency to Orthodoxy because he kisses nearly everything.

Update: "Panteleimon" means "All-merciful:" the saint was given the name "Pantaleon" (meaning "In all things like a lion") by his parents, but he changed it later to "Panteleimon" when he became a Christian.

Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion

I got my announcement (1:40 into this segment) saying I still love Virgil after a whole four months of marriage read aloud by Garrison Keillor this evening when we went to see the show live. I'm in love with Minnesota.

Wedding Pictures

I was rather worried about going to see my cute nephews without clearing out the memory cards for the camera, but I hadn't been able to download from the camera to a computer. I needed to find the installation cd for the camera. *Obviously* that would be in the glove compartment.

After a few hours of playing with online photo hosting (What's up, yahoo photos? Why won't you upload for me?), I decided on flickr for our wedding photos.

My Hero

I dreamed that I was an athletic person with a job. So, obviously, I wore "sporty" things to the office, then changed. Elisabeth was kind enough to drive me to my job, but then as she drove away I realized she had my work clothes in her car, and I had no way to contact her. Then I ran into my husband on the escalator. He'd followed me because he missed me. So I decided to skip work and stay with my husband. It would have been a nice dream except that suddenly I was at work, working in my "sporty" clothes without him. *sigh* But he missed me and came to get me. (Also, he's super fast and Elisabeth drives an SUV as big as a tank.)

This post is so wrong.

Virgin Mary Cheese Sandwich on eBay

I read some of the listing to my husband: "[T]his item is not intended for consumption," to which he replied, "No food products should give you tuberculosis."

I knew what I was getting into when we got married, didn't I?

John Kerry amuses me in a good way.

"Senator Kerry, why do you think you lost the election?"

"Well, I didn't get enough votes."

Elections

I like that, in MSNBC's election coverage, they footnote GWB as the incumbent. If you didn't know that, you probably won't know what "incumbent" means.

nanowrimo

Every November, I ponder. Should I or shouldn't I? Or, really, will I or won't I? But what to write?

Also, Anthony was terribly wicked and lent me the first in the Wheel of Time series. I'm almost ready for the second book - maybe by the time I get home. Yum.
