Marital Conflict
I still contend that Byzantine chant is not a good vehicle for Shel Silverstein.

I am happily married (since July 2004) to a priest who is serving (as of October) at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I am a convert to Orthodox Christianity from Roman Catholicism. My favorite occupation is wife and mommy. {{11.04.12}}

I'll grant you that plagal second wasn't the right tone for that particular poem. But you really do have to give it more of a chance.
I don't interfere in marital conflicts, I'm just smiling and nodding.
I think plagal second could be *perfect* for some Shel Silverstein poems! Byzantine music is a good vehicle for all kinds of messages, I find. I've been known to mutate "Behold, the bridegroom comes in the middle of the night" to songs including messages about pizza. Could it be an end-of-Lent thing?
I guess I'm "late" into whatever the "marital" thing is, but did want to say, Hello. I'm trying to post my observations on religion, life, etc. I'm a retired UCC minister; Orthodox the last 14 years; retired USAF and Army chaplain; PhD-psychotherapy. forestphilosopher.blogtoolkit.com
Magda-
So your nephew had a spider in the nose incident too? I feel MUCH better! :) I just realized that I know you! We had a booth at the Clearwater festival (you probably didn't see me as I was chasing my kids instead of working ;) but I remember the lady next to us (the one in charge of GOYA congratulating you) My husband and I kept saying how you really look like a presbytera should! (Not that I can give tips to presbyteras but you know what I mean) We are so happy for you and will pray for you throughout your pregnancy. May God bless your family! Maybe next time we are in Tarpon Springs we can have lunch!
